Patent Agent Exam Prep Course
ICRO has taken up the initiative to start with the patent agent examination preparation course with the aim of encouraging young minds to build up a career in Patency.
What is patent ??
- A Patent is a type of Intellectual Property that gives its owner the legal right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention for a limited period of time in exchange for publishing an enabling disclosure of the invention.
- It can be in a form of product or process
- The patentee can give a licensee or assign an assignees for his patent.
- The protection is usually given for a span of 20 years in India from the date of application.
Criteria of patentability
Any Patent applications must satisfy the following three criteria:
- Novelty – This means that your invention must not have been made public – not even by yourself – before the date of the application.
- Inventive Step – This means that your product or process must involve technical advances as compared to the existing knowledge or having economic significance or both; and
- Industrial Applicability – Can be made or used in industry

Course Details
- This course is a complete guidance for cracking the patent agent examination.
- The coursework will cover the complete syllabus of the examination.
- Mock test and Mock viva for all the papers will be taken.
- Focus on conceptual understanding, exam pattern wise syllabus coverage, practical knowledge regarding patent services in India
Course Schedule
- Course starts from 15th February 2023
- Class will be conducted on online platform as a live and interactive session.
- 2 hours Every Saturday-Sunday starting from 1st week of February 2023.
- Exam notes in soft copy, class materials and recording will be provided to each enrolled participant.
About Authors
I belong to a Gujarati family, born in Nashik City of Maharashtra state. I pursued my bachelor in Ayurveda science from Pune. I opted for Masters in Ayurveda-Prasuti and Streeroga i.e. Ayurveda- Gynecology from Institute of National importance (INI), Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar. The first and foremost ambition of my life is practicing, propagating classical Ayurveda in the society and making people belief the potentials of classical Indian sciences. During the period of my masters, I learned multiple things about scientific study, clinical trials, research works, research writings, etc. With the co partnership of my life partner Dr. Abhay Gandhi, we planned to start a startup entitled with Ira Consultancy and Research Organisation dealing with promoting and encouraging young scholars to provide all guidance, support and opportunities to carry their research activities. In order to get well versed with the law of patency in India, we planned to opt for the exam. And this then pave us to the new horizon to my career and a complete unit of Intellectual Property services under ICRO.

I belong to Marwari family, born in Ahmednagar town of Maharashtra state. I pursued my Bachelors in pharmacy field from Pune. Further I opted for pursuing post-graduation from Ayurveda Pharmacy field from Institute of National importance (INI), Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar. With the quest of research and family support I then opted for Ph.D in Pharmaceutical chemistry branch from the same INI institute. During the while, I was enriched with research activities of pharma lab, pharmacy experience, and teaching experience. Along with this I have published more than 20 research articles in highly Indexed journals including Scopus, Pubmed, Elsevier, etc. I then worked at National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur as a Research Associate in the project of Regional Raw Drug Repository sanctioned by Government of India. Further I had an opportunity to pursue my Post-doctoral fellowship at the Bharthiar University, Tamil Nadu on Bharthiar Cancer Theranaustics Research Centre. In my long journey of career, many times I had incidences of coming across the intellectual property rights of India. With the urge of learning about patency and its related laws in India, I opted for appearing for Patent agent examination. It brought into my notice that till that time no any book on multiple choice questions of Paper 1 in patent agent examination was available in market. This paved the path of writing this book so that many other young research professionals and young scholars who wants to pursue career in this field can be benefited by this piece of art.
